Adventure Awaits!

  Hello!

I think I may have been influenced by the weather over the last couple of days as my project this week has a bit of a stormy sea feel...

I also made a video whilst creating this journal spread which you can watch by clicking on the link...

https://youtu.be/LDeLWh73ljY

1) I started out in my tag journal that already had distress oxide spray on the pages.  The colours were salvaged patina, kitsch flamingo and squeezed lemonade...

2) Using the squeezed lemonade distress oxide inkpad I stencilled some circles through one of the templates from the bullet journaling set...

3) For a bit of extra background interest I used the salvaged patina distress oxide pad through the bakewell big inkable...

4) To start a picture on my pages I used some of the stamps from the regular lighthouse stamp set in watering can archival...

5) To create more focal images I stamped and die cut some of the elements, coloured them with ecoline brush pens then highlighted with a white posca pen...

6) These were then added to the pages...

7) Finally I added a sentiment from the ticker tape 3 set and splashes of white gloss spray for added sea foam...

Lots of Sunflowers Card

  Hello!

As this week is mental health awareness week and the theme is nature I thought I would use some time to create a fairly simple card that reflected the theme of nature but was also quite mindful with some colouring in to do...

1) First I stamped the sunflower head from the regular doodle art set onto a piece of distress watercolour card.  I used archival ink as I knew I wanted to add water based products.

2) Then I used the Ecoline brush pens to colour.  I added them directly to the card when colouring the flowers without adding any water and blended the colours.

3) Next I added a pale green background also with the pens, but this time I scribbled the colour out onto a block and added water before painting on with a brush.

4) I then spritzed the card with water to cause some of the colour on the sunflowers to move and run.  When I was happy with how it looked I used my heat tool to dry them.  Once it was dry I added white gelly roll pen for highlights.

5) Finally I stamped a sentiment from Everyday Sentiments 1 onto black card with embossing ink and heat embossed it in white.  I added a black mat to help the images to pop and then mounted it onto a 6" card blank.

I hope you all get a chance to do some crafting this weekend.
Take care,

Vintage Moth Tag Journal Spread

  Hello!

This week on the Bee Crafty facebook page I did a live where I used the Tim Holtz distress oxide sprays to create tags which I made into a tag journal.  So today I have used one of the backgrounds in that journal to create a spread...

1) I started with a double tag page that had been made using the distress oxide colours salvaged patina, rusty hinge and vintage photo...

2) Using versafine clair in brown and clear embossing powder, I stamped and heat embossed some of the coffee stains...

3) Next I stamped some of the script XL in salvaged patina distress oxide and added clear embossing powder over the top which pushed it further into the background...

4) To add extra dimension I used distress grit paste through the damask inkable on either side of the spread.  One of the features of the distress texture pastes is that they take on the colour of distress inks, so the brown from the oxide sprays underneath started to colour the paste which gave it an even more vintage feel...

5) Then I stamped the moth from the dragonfly stamp set onto Dina Wakley plain collage paper and also watercolour card which I cut out with the dies.  The collage moths were adhered to the pages with collage medium and the other two were coloured with scribble sticks before adding...

6) To frame the pages I blended some black soot distress ink around the edges and finally splattered with gloss spray and added a ticker tape 3 sentiment...
