'Grungy Butterflies Card' for Bee Crafty

Hello!

As we head towards the new year I thought that I would take the opportunity to start creating a collection of cards for different occasions that would then be ready for when they are needed.  As birthdays seem to be the main kind of card required I decided to start there...

* First I chose a selection of different butterfly stamps (all of which are linked below) and stamped them onto a piece of watercolour card using versamark ink.  Then I heat embossed them using white powder.

* Next I used some watercolour paints to colour the card, adding extra colour inside the butterflies.

* To create extra interest in the background I used the Script, Texture Borders and Texture Circles stamp sets with distress inks (Picked Raspberry & Wild Honey) and then used Archival Watering Can for extra depth.  I also used the grey around the edges to frame the card...

* After that I stamped the Large Butterfly onto white vellum and embossed with white powder.  These were then cut out and layered up.  They now looked a bit too white against the grungier background so I added a touch of the grey archival to blend them more.

* Finally I added a sentiment and matted and layered the card up.

Here are the products I used:

Art Stamps - Large Butterfly
Art Stamps - Dragonfly and Butterfly Set
Art Stamps - Birds and Butterflies Set 1
Background, Textures & Borders - Script
Background, Textures & Borders - Texture Borders
Background, Textures & Borders - Texture Circles
Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 2 (regular)
Distress Ink Pads
White Embossing Powder

Hopefully this is the start of more cards for my collection!

Thank you for looking and happy crafting.

Happy Christmas with Bee Crafty

Hello!

I hope you have all been enjoying the 20 days of Christmas projects that Bee Crafty have been sharing over on the Facebook group, if you are not a member do please have a look on Facebook, search for Bee Crafty and the page and group should come up.

As this is my final blog post before Christmas I thought I would share a Christmas card to wish you all the best for the season...

The background was created using distress inks in Festive Berries and Crushed Olive.   I used a blending tool to add the colour straight onto the card then through the distressed harlequin d'inkable.

To create some text for the background I collected the words and sentiments from a variety of the Yuletide Doodle stamps and arranged them onto an acrylic block.  These were then stamped together onto the card with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold...

Using both the regular and XL Doodle Poinsettia stamps I inked them with black versafine then embossed with clear powder, this was repeated twice for each flower I wanted.  These were then cut out so they could be layered up and coloured using Faber-Castell Pitt pens...

Finally I stamped one of the sentiments onto black card and embossed with gold powder before cutting out with a banner die.

Here are the products I used:

Doodle Poinsettia Stamps - Regular and XL
Yuletide Doodle Stamps
* Distressed Harlequin D'inkable
Distress Ink Pads

The Yuletide Doodle stamps are currently on sale so a great time to get hold of them!!

I wish everyone the best Christmas you can hope for and see you on the other side!

Happy crafting,

'Winter Flowers Card' For Tando Creative

Hello!

Today on the Tando Creative blog I am sharing a card I have made with a wintery feel...

I started with an alcohol ink background that I had already created with some bits of silver foiling added on top.  Then I used the Tando 4" snowflakes stencil with silver texture paste...

I picked a couple of leaves from the Tando Minis and a flower from the Tando grab bag and coloured them with a silver paint pen before adding some sparkly glitter glue to the elements.  The flower was then finished off using a sparkler from my stash...

To add even more winter to the background I splashed on some watered down white gesso before sticking on my greyboard pieces.  Then I found some text from the Tim Holtz small talk stickers which I matted onto silver glitter card...

Here are the products I used:

Tando Creative 4" stencil - Snowflakes
Tando Creative Minis Leaves 1 and 2
Tando Creative Flowers with Stems Grab Bag

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!
