Mixed Media Monday: A Box of Butterflies!

Hello!

I hope you have had a good weekend and are refreshed and ready for the coming week!

Today I have a mixed media card project for a change, although you may recognise the card style as it is another pop up box card!

I will be entering this project into the IndigoBlu Challenge Blog challenge, Brown and Teal...

The base card is made from Kraft card and the details of the measurements etc. are on a previous box card post.

I started by creating the sheets of card to be cut up as the decorative panels.
The first step was to spray the white card with spray ink to create the base colour - Lindy's Stamp Gang (Time Travel Teal, Shabby Turbine Teal & Opal Sea Oats) and Distress Stain Spray (Vintage Photo)...

Then I created a stamped layer using a variety of IndigoBlu stamps - Doily from Floral Fantasy; Vintage Flourish and All Saints.  These were done using a mix of brown and teal toned ink pads...

For the final layer I wanted to add a bit of texture, so used Cinnamon Sparkle Paste from Imagination Crafts through the IndigoBlu Harlequin stencil...

Once these were all thoroughly dry I cut the panels up and matted them onto brown cardstock.
I also took the 'Thanks' stamp from the Word Blocks set, then once stamped cut the centre piece out with a die and inked around the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink...

To create the main focus of the card I stamped the two individual butterflies of the Floral Fantasy stamp set a number of times using brown ink onto a sprayed ink background.  These were then cut out and covered with glossy accents and a sprinkle of teal glitter whilst the glaze was still wet.

These were then stuck onto strips of acetate along with some flourish die cuts from Heartfelt Creations in brown cardstock, and then arranged on the struts within the card.  Any extra pieces were added to the outside flaps along with the sentiment...

Another pop up box card to add to my growing collection!

I will be back tomorrow with another design team sample from the last Leonie Pujol Entwined Hearts release and possibly some info about something to watch out for later this week on HOCHANDA!
