Hello!
I hope you are having a good week!
Today is extra exciting as I have completed my canvas (yay!) and tonight is also the launch of Leonie Pujol's mixed media dies and to celebrate I will be having a give away of one of the die sets!! There will also be give aways from the other design team members so to be in with a chance pop back at 8pm tonight (BST) when I will have all the details!
However back to now...
I will be entering my canvas into the following challenges...
* Mixed Media World: #16 Under The Sea
* Creative Artiste: #16 Anything Goes
* Crafty Girls Creations: #23 Anything Goes
* Rhedd's Creative Spirit: Anything Goes
* Love To Create: #15 Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes
* Craft Stamper: Take it Make it, Anything Goes
Here is the completed canvas...
Although I showed the start of this creation on Monday I thought it best to have a quick recap!
I started by using strips of stockingnette, wrappers and gauze with Paverpol fabric hardener, which I placed onto the canvas and then added some 3D art balls from Powertex...
After this had thoroughly dried, (which was helped by the lovely weather we have had) I used starlight paints from Imagination Crafts in 3 shades of blue with some pearl added to help lighten areas. I wanted to create a mix of blues to recreate the different shades that you get in the ocean...
Once this was dried I felt that the colour needed something extra so I added some green and blue silk glazes...
As the theme was 'Under The Sea' I wanted to create a magical feel to the canvas, so added some different textures and sparkle using blue and gold chunky glitter by Chloe as well as blue and green micro beads by Prima. I then picked out some different sized beads in matching colours to add extra detail. I also wanted to highlight the texture of the fabric so used gold Pebeo gilding wax...
Once these had all set completely I stamped out a range of shells using 'A Little Bit Scenic, Seashells' by Sheena Douglas. I used versamark and gold embossing powder then after heat setting cut them out. I also stamped out the sentiment from the same set and cut it out using a label die...
Once they were coloured using Spectrum Aqua pens with a sparkle pen, some had gold glitter added and the others were glazed with glossy accents and sprinkled with glamour dust. Once dry they were adhered to the canvas using glue gel and some extra dots were added using Cosmic Shimmer gold PVA. The sentiment was dusted with distress inks and also added to the top of the canvas. To finish it off some birds from a Leonie Pujol stamp set were added using Timber Brown Staz On ink...
I really enjoyed using the Paverpol on a canvas and will be seeing what other ways I can use it from now on. I had to stop myself getting too carried away with the glitz, but it is very difficult to get the full effect on photographs!
I will be back later with the give away details and my first sample post for Leonie's new launch so hope you will be able to come back for a look.
Jane x
