Hello!
I am back again with another challenge launch, this time for Creative Artiste...
This challenge starts on the first Friday of each month and always has a fab prize on offer, this month it is a selection of stamps and dies provided by our very own design team member Judy!
To find out more about the challenge please pop over by clicking HERE. Please have a quick look at the rules and then we would love to see your mixed media creations!
Inspired by our brilliant prize this month, I used a few of my own stamps and dies on this project...
I love floral dies so wanted to use this as a theme for my vintage style canvas and frame.
The background was made using one of Crafter's Companion's new 3D embossing folders (Country Garden) and then coloured with distress inks (worn lipstick and wild honey) and gilding wax.
To try to create an old gold look I painted my plastic frame with starlight paints from Imagination Crafts (chartreuse) and also a 7 x 5 canvas board to mount the embossed card onto. I added stamping to the canvas using the dinkie script stamp by IndigoBlu and gold embossing powder. The frame was finished off with a touch of king gold gilding wax from Pebeo.
To create the focal points on the canvas I die cut some flowers using the classic sunflower die from Heartfelt Creations with some foliage, and also a magical butterfly by Sue Wilson.
The flowers were coloured with distress inks matching the background and then the same script stamp was used to create extra detail using archival sepia ink. These were then stacked together and a gem added to the centres. The foliage was coloured using crushed olive and wild honey distress ink, and the butterfly was covered with Pebeo gilding wax.
As always I like to add a sentiment for the finishing touch and chose one out of a lovely new set of stamps from 'Mama Makes by Loti Marie' (Watercolour Inspiration).
It says 'Fill your heart with what makes you happy' and I feel that it complements the frame well!
Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my project and I hope you will go on over to the challenge and enter a project, we love seeing what you make :)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you are doing,
Jane x
