Butterfly & Floral Journal for Bee Crafty

Hello!

This week on the Bee Crafty blog I am sharing a project created using some of the stamps from both of my collections to decorate a journal cover...

I started by die cutting a journal cover which I then painted with a light coat of crackle paint.  Once that was dry I added different shades of blue gelatos, blending them with water...

Next I used the circles dinkable with white gesso to add extra interest to the cover...

Taking the sentiment from the 'Just Bloom' set I added the text along either side using blue archival ink...

For even more background pattern I took the larger circles from the 'Geometric Walls' set and stamped it with the same blue archival ink.  Then I coloured some of the circles using permanent markers...

Next I created some embellishments for the front cover.  I altered some jigsaw puzzle pieces, I made a video of how I did this which you can watch here...

I also stamped and cut out the 'Butterfly Beginnings' stamp before colouring and adding glossy accents and glitter on top...

Finally I stamped out the sentiment and created a charm to hang from the journal by stamping the 'Just Bloom' flower onto shrink plastic and colouring it before adding beads...

These elements were then all added together to create the final journal...

Doodle Bird Memory Dex Card for Bee Crafty

Hello!

Today on the Bee Crafty blog I am sharing a Memory Dex card that I have made using some of the stencils and masks with gloss sprays along with some of the doodle art stamps...

I started on a card that I had die cut from mixed media card stock and placed the circle mask from the easy frame into the middle and sprayed with marine gloss spray...

Next I used the leafy branch d'inkable with olive spray...

After that I sprayed the whole card with fuchsia gloss spray and blotted over with kitchen towel as the spray layers resist each other...

To add extra detail I used a white posca pen to doodle around the elements and create some splatters.  I also decided to go over my leaf image with a green alcohol marker to enhance the colour...

For extra interest in the background I stamped a couple of the smaller elements from the Doodle Art Bird set using black archival ink then coloured them with permanent markers...

As focal elements I stamped out the Doodle Art Bird along with three of the flowers from the same set, leaves from the Doodle Art Dragonfly set and part of a sentiment from Ticker Tape 1.  I coloured the images using alcohol markers...

To finish I adhered all of the parts using glue gel...

'About to Bloom' Journal Page for Bee Crafty

Hello!

On the Bee Crafty blog today I am sharing a journal spread that I have created using the 'Just Bloom' stamp set but without using the main flower...

I started by creating a background in my small Dylusions journal, blending blue and pink acrylic paint with water to help it blend...

Next I used the largest circles stamps from the 'Geometric Walls' set to add a floor to my scene and coloured them using markers.  I decided that for this spread I would not use any black at all...

Then I stamped one of the leaf stamps from the 'Just Bloom' set, aiming them upwards to create plants.  Where they were not quite long enough I added an extra part of the stem to make them longer.  After that I coloured the bottom two leaves of each plant...

To create my flowers I stamped out the other two leaves in the set and coloured them before adding them to the page.  I then stamped the sentiment along each side multiple times...

Finally I stamped out the sentiment again to add to the page and used a white posca pen to add some doodles and also some white gloss spray for splashes...
