Hello!
The first Friday in October means a new month for the Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge!!
We had so many fantastic entries last month and it is so lovely to look at all your wonderful, please check out the Creative Artiste blog to find out who last months winners were and also to take a look at this months challenge. This month the challenge is being sponsored by the fabulous Scrapmatts...
For my project this month I used some of the Scrapmatts chipboard pieces to decorate a greyboard tag...
I started by preparing the tag with white gesso then added pieces of music score from an old book. I also coated the scrapmatts pieces with gesso (assorted words, ornate frames and triangles 03) and then stuck them to the tag where I wanted them to be...
Next I coloured the tag using Decoart Fluid acrylics (hansa yellow light, pyrrole orange and pyrrole red), watering them down to create drips and blends. Once this was dry I added some gold Pebeo gilding wax across the raised pieces to help highlight the texture. To create even more definition I added some black archival ink around the edges of the tag and also across the main word. At this point I also decided to add a bit of extra texture using one of the texture border stamps from Bee Crafty.
The image was stamped using 'Juniper' by Aall and Create. I cut out the character and the crown and coloured them using watercolours. Some white highlights were created with a uniball gel pen and then she was added to the tag...
Finally I chose some extra words from the Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers that fit with the theme and finished with some black organza ribbon.
Thank you for looking and do please go on over to the challenge to check out all the design team projects, it would be great to see yours there too!
Happy crafting,
Jane xx
