Hello You Card

  Hello!

This week I decided to create a quick card with some white space again!  I am really trying to embrace that white space...

1) I started by using distress oxide sprays through three different stencils, drying the spray between each layer.  I used Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron and Picked Raspberry.

2) Next I used a white gelly roll pen to doodle around some of the stencil shapes.

3) Then I stamped and cut out one of my flower stamps (Dreams Blossom) and added it to the card before drawing on a stem.

4) Using a sentiment from Everyday Sentiments 1, I stamped directly onto the card.

5) Finally the card was matted and layered onto black then the base card.

Believe In Magic

  Hello!

This week I have made a card with a bit (ok a small bit) of white space on it...

1) I started by using the Pretty Gets Gritty sprays to create some colour.  I sprayed them onto an acrylic block and smooshed them onto the watercolour card allowing some drips to run down.  The colours were Ultraviolet, Iced Sunshine and Bittersweet Orange...

2) To add some more white into the background I used an embossing dabber through the Coffee Stain Script stencil and embossed with superfine white powder...

3) Next I used the Distress Diamond stamp with orange archival ink to add some more pattern...

4) I wanted a strong image to put on top of the background so stamped the XL unicorn using black archival...

5) Finally I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto white vellum using white embossing powder and wrapped it around the bottom of the card before layering onto black cardstock and a card base...

Explosion Powders Butterfly Card

  Hello!

This week I have made a card using the Pretty Gets Gritty explosion powders...

1) I started by creating a spritzed background with the Olympia, Athena and Eros explosion powders onto watercolour cardstock...

2) Next I used a few strips from one of the Dina Wakley backgrounds collage sheets and added them to the background using matte collage medium...

3) To create a coloured texture paste I mixed together some of the Athena powder with grit paste and put it through the leafy branch d'inkable...

4) To highlight the leaves a bit more I added white pen around the edges and then for extra detail splattered some of the white across as well...

5) Then I created another piece of card using the Mermaid and Atlas explosion powders and stamped the Butterfly Beginnings stamp onto it.  I cut it out and used Elf and Aphrodite powders to colour some parts as well as adding black and white pen...

6) Finally I added the butterfly to the card front and used a sentiment from Everyday Sentiments 1...

'Make A Difference' Journal Spread

  Hello!

This week for my project I decided to set myself a challenge, I had to use a page from my journal that already had mop up on it and I could not use any black!!!

Here is the spread I made...

1) I started by looking through my small flip journal by Dylusions and selected a page where I had mopped up distress oxide spray from my d'inkables...

2) I wanted to add some more colour to the pages so used the Speckled Egg distress oxide ink pad with a blending tool...

3) Next I added some patches of white gesso to create a misty look and then used the gesso through the Bakewell inkable...

4) After that I used the Wildflower 2 and 3 stamps with Speckled Egg distress oxide ink and Wild Honey distress ink to add some images into the background.  These ended up being quite light but helped add to the misty look, to create some darker images I used Wildflower 2 with Faded Jeans archival ink...

5) To bring out the flowers more I used a white gelly roll pen for highlights and dabbed on some of the Moon Dust glitter gel.  I wanted to add some extra darker points to the spread so I used the Distress Diamonds with the same archival ink and also edged the pages...

6) Finally I stamped out one of the Ticker Tape 3 sentiments in the same colour...

To create this spread I used the following products which you can go to by clicking on the product links:
